The Eid-ul-Fitr congregation at National Parliament South Plaza is scheduled to be held at 8am on Saturday, subject to the sighting of the moon. All necessary preparations for the prayer gathering have been completed at the venue.
According to a press release signed by Parliament Secretariat Director (Public Relations) Md Emadul Haque, the congregation will be attended by lawmakers, officials and employees of the Parliament Secretariat, and local devotees.
A significant feature of this year’s arrangement is the provision of separate prayer facilities for women.
In the interest of security and maintaining order, the Parliament Secretariat has issued specific guidelines for attendees. Devotees are requested to arrive having already performed their ablution (wudu) and fully prepared for the prayers.
While prayer mats, mobile phones, and umbrellas (if necessary) are permitted, the Secretariat has requested that no bags or other objects be brought to the premises. All participants are urged to arrive in a timely manner to join the congregation.
