Police recovered the body of a man from Dhanmondi Lake in the capital on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Javed Ahmed, 51.
The body was recovered around 7:30am.
According to police, citing family members, Javed had previously worked in marketing at a company but had been unemployed for the past six months and was suffering from depression.
Dhanmondi Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) SM Abdul Gafur said police received information through the 999 emergency service in the morning and recovered the body floating in the lake.
According to the inquest report, no injury marks were found on the body.
The body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College morgue for an autopsy.
