Renowned filmmaker Tanvir Mokammel has commenced filming ‘Sojon Badiar Ghat’, an adaptation of the iconic pastoral poem by Jasimuddin. The shoot began in Satpar village, Gopalganj, bringing to life the rural landscape and close-knit community depicted in the literary work.
Set along the banks of the Madhumati River, the story explores the friendship and eventual heartbreak of Shojon and Duli, two childhood companions from Hindu and Muslim families living side by side. The narrative captures the joys and sorrows of communal life and enduring human bonds.
Tanay Biswas stars as Sojon, with Dihan portraying his younger self, while Radifa Narmine, Shreya Baidya, Chitralekha Guha and others complete the ensemble.
Mokammel’s Kino-Eye Films team is working meticulously to recreate the authentic ambience of rural Bengal, promising a cinematic rendition that honours Jasimuddin’s lyrical vision.
