The 31st founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Coast Guard and Bangladesh Coast Guard Day 2026 will be observed across the country Saturday.
Established in 1995, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has played a key role in ensuring security across the country’s vast maritime and coastal areas.
Since its inception, the force has maintained law and order at sea, protected lives and property, and curbed smuggling, drug trafficking and human trafficking.
On the occasion, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus issued a message extending greetings to all members of the force.
He praised the role of the Bangladesh Coast Guard in ensuring maritime safety, protecting fisheries resources and implementing sanctuaries to preserve Jatka and Hilsa.
The Chief Adviser also highlighted the force’s professionalism in providing relief and conducting rescue operations during natural disasters, including cyclones, floods and tidal surges.
He expressed hope that the Bangladesh Coast Guard would further strengthen maritime security and uphold national dignity in the years ahead.
He urged members of the force to continue performing their duties with honesty, discipline, professionalism and patriotism.
