Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 21 individuals in a 24-hour drive under Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2 on Sunday.
The crackdown spanned multiple police stations, including Mohammadpur, Pallabi, Khilkhet, Jatrabari, Rampura, Shilpanchal, Uttarkhan, Shahbagh, Wari, Mugda, and Hatirjhil.
According to a press release, DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media & Public Relations) Muhammad Talebur Rahman PPM confirmed that the arrests included one from Mohammadpur, three from Pallabi, three from Khilkhet, two from Jatrabari, one from Rampura, one from Shilpanchal, three from Uttarkhan, one from Shahbagh, one from Wari, four from Mugda, and one from Hatirjhil.
The arrested individuals are identified as Sanjay Zaz Haldar, Nazmul Hasan Rasel, Md Mushfik Faisal Mishu alias Ashik, Alal, Md Nahid Hasan, Morium Jesmin alias Mayaboti, Rubel, Mahir Ashab alias Abir, Sohel, Tushar, Md Sajib Islam, Md Arman Mia, Nahid Hasan Joy, Dalia Amin Sokal, Juel Rana, Md Hriday, Md Ibrahim, Abdur Rahman Mahin, Md Saidur Islam, Md Imran Hossain, and Md Hasib.
Police recovered two foreign pistols, two magazines, seven rounds of bullets, three cartridges, a ramda, five chapatis, six knives, a sickle, and a hammer from the detainees.
Authorities confirmed that the arrested individuals have been sent to court for legal proceedings, while further investigations are ongoing.
The operation is part of DMP’s ongoing initiative to crack down on organised crime and maintain law and order across the capital.
