Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman is scheduled to address an election rally at the Khulna Circuit House field on Tuesday.
Local party leaders said that the Jamaat ameer will seek votes for the “daripalla” symbol and deliver a speech regarding the upcoming elections to be held on 12 February.
Party activists and leaders have already started arriving at the venue, as Shafiqur will address the rally around 3:30pm as the chief guest.
The Khulna Circuit House ground and its adjacent roads have the capacity to accommodate thousands of people.
The rally is being jointly organised by Khulna district and city units of Jamaat. It will be presided over by Maulana Mahfuzur Rahman, ameer of the party’s metropolitan committee, while the party’s Secretary General Golam Parwar will address the gathering as a special guest.
Following the conclusion of the programme in Khulna, Shafiqur will travel to Bagerhat to address another rally as part of his party campaign, scheduled for 6pm.
