Brooklyn Beckham has publicly addressed his strained relationship with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, alleging that repeated tensions involving his wife, actor Nicola Peltz, led to a complete breakdown in communication.
In a series of Instagram Stories shared on Monday, the 26 year old said he and Peltz travelled to London earlier this year in an attempt to repair relations and spend time with David Beckham around his birthday. Brooklyn claimed their efforts were rebuffed and that his parents declined to meet them privately.
He alleged that his family had consistently disrespected his wife and said his mother had invited women from his past into family settings in ways he felt were intended to cause discomfort. Brooklyn also claimed that when his father eventually agreed to see him, it was on the condition that Nicola would not attend.
Brooklyn suggested the situation left him feeling excluded and said he later experienced further distance when his parents visited Los Angeles but did not meet him. He appeared to be referring to David Beckham’s recent milestone birthday celebrations, which included a high profile guest list.
Saying he no longer wished to remain silent, Brooklyn told his followers that he had tried for years to keep family matters private. He added that continued media coverage had prompted him to speak out, insisting he was standing up for himself rather than seeking reconciliation.
Brooklyn married Nicola Peltz in 2022. Representatives for David and Victoria Beckham have not commented on his claims. The couple have four children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.
