Akij Group subsidiary Akij Online has begun a pilot programme with RupaliCash, the mobile financial service (MFS) operated by state-owned Rupali Bank PLC, covering distribution and merchant acquiring.
The programme was inaugurated on Wednesday at Akij Chamber, Akij Online’s head office in Dilkusha, Dhaka.
Under the initiative, Akij Online will run RupaliCash distributor operations across the country through its own distribution network and recruit agents through sales representatives.
Akij Group’s sister concerns will also move salary, allowance, fee, dealer-distributor and merchant-related transactions to RupaliCash, said a press release.
Rupali Bank MD Kazi Md Wahidul Islam attended as chief guest.
Akij Online CEO Sheikh Aminuddin and senior officials of both organisations attended the event.
