Doctors in Singapore are waiting for the physical condition of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi to stabilise. They said his body must first be fully stabilised before he can be prepared for surgery.

These details were shared in a Facebook post by Inqilab Mancha on Wednesday.

Osman Hadi, also a prospective independent candidate for Dhaka‑8, was shot by assailants on a motorcycle while he was travelling in an autorickshaw on Box‑Culvert Road in Bijoynagar, Dhaka, on 12 December. He was quickly rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. From there, he was moved to Evercare Hospital for advanced treatment. On Monday afternoon, he was flown to Singapore.

Inqilab Mancha, in the Facebook post, further said that surgery is required to activate Hadi’s brain. At present, doctors are primarily focused on restoring the connection between his body and brain. However, all his organs except the brain remain functional.

According to the post, Hadi’s treatment could take place either in England or Singapore. In addition, his family has requested special prayers for him through the same post.

Law enforcement agencies have identified two suspects involved in the shooting. One is the prime suspect and alleged shooter, Faisal Karim Masud alias Daud Khan, and the other is the motorcycle rider, Alamgir Hossain.
