University degrees are not meant solely for securing jobs but should also be used to fight corruption and lead with integrity, said Education Adviser CR Abrar.
He made the remark while speaking at the 12th convocation of Rajshahi University (RU) on Wednesday morning.
He stressed that the true value of education lies not only in professional success but also in contributing to society. Addressing the graduates, Abrar urged them to use their knowledge to strengthen institutions, stand against corruption, and lead with honesty.
“You are not just professionals; you are responsible citizens capable of bringing positive change to society. Knowledge is a power that must be used responsibly,” he said.
The adviser further emphasised that university education should help build a just and humane society. Warning against limiting oneself to personal gains, he said, “Your success should not be measured solely by financial benefits or professional positions, but by the contributions you make to society.”
The convocation was also attended by Dr SMA Faiz, chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
