The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) participated in the Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026.
The fair was held at Novo Theatre in Dhaka from 12 to 14 September 2026, reads a press release.
The three-day fair was organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology under the theme “Innovation Ecosystem Toward Trillion Dollar Economy”.
It brought together innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, industry representatives, investors, policymakers and universities to promote collaboration and transform innovation into market and economic activities.
ULAB showcased a range of projects, including Farmers’ Market Preservation, Plastic Bottle Recycling Vending Machine and ParkShare Bangladesh.
The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) presented a Reconfigurable BMS for Second-Life Batteries, while the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) showcased five projects: IoT-Enabled Gait Impairment Classification, BioCal RA, Real-Time AI-Powered Bidirectional Sign Language Translator, OceanSense and RAG-BChain.
The projects drew particular interest for their focus on sustainability, smart solutions, artificial intelligence, accessibility and social impact.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the three-day event as the chief guest.
Shamsad Mortuza, vice chancellor of ULAB, attended the inaugural session and visited the university’s exhibition booth, where he observed the projects and interacted with the participating teams.
He appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of connecting university-based research and innovation with real-world applications and societal needs.
During the fair, ICT Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam and Rehan A Asad, adviser to the prime minister, state minister for ICT, Telecom, Science and Technology, along with other distinguished guests, also visited the ULAB exhibition booth and explored the innovative projects showcased by the university.
The fair featured more than 1,000 innovations, over 50 universities, 100 industry experts and 50 corporate organisations, providing a national platform for innovation and collaboration.
