Bashundhara Kings are still unbeaten in the Bangladesh Football League. They began the season with a draw. After that, they won four matches in a row. Their latest win came in Munshiganj, and it was another strong show of their form.
Brothers Union had a hard time from the start at the Shaheed Bir Shreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium. The Kings kept control of the ball and pressed forward again and again. Their pressure finally paid off near the end of the first half. In the 41st minute, Doriélton met a cross from Rakib Hossain and scored the opening goal. Faisal Ahmed Fahim then doubled the lead in added time after Ishak Ali saved the first shot.
The goal did not come early for the Kings even though they created chances. In the third minute, Rakib entered the box with space but delayed his shot. A Brothers defender cleared the danger for a corner. Later, in the 12th minute, Doriélton placed a fine effort from an Emmanuel Sunday cross. Ishak Ali stopped it with a strong punch and denied him again just before the break.
The Kings started the second half with more energy. Brothers struggled to stop the waves of attacks. In the 50th minute, Sunday received a pass from the right and placed the ball into the net. Four minutes later, Sohel Rana Junior added another goal. Doriélton then scored his second in the 77th minute. He controlled a long cross from Imon, dodged his marker, and beat the goalkeeper with calm skill.
The Kings almost scored again in the 83rd minute. Cuba Mitchell hit a sharp shot that flew just wide of the right post. Brothers finally found a consolation goal in the 90th minute. Mozammel Hossain headed in a corner from Jamal Bhuiyan. That was their only joy of the match.
Bashundhara Kings finished with a 5–1 win. In their previous match, they had also scored five goals against Rahmatganj. Their unbeaten journey in the league continues with confidence and control.
