A grocery shop employee was stabbed to death by unknown criminals in Dhaka’s Kamrangirchar area on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Rocky, 25, police said.
The incident occurred around 3:30am in front of Hurricane Factory Ashrafabad High School in Kamrangirchar’s Boro Gram area.
Passers-by rescued Rocky in critical condition and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead, said Inspector Md Farouk, also in-charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Rocky’s father, Abu Sayed, said their home is in Dudhkahli village of Madaripur Sadar upazila. Rocky lived in Boro Gram area.
“Early in the morning we received the news that someone had stabbed Rocky and taken him to the hospital. When we arrived, we found his body,” he said.
Inspector Farouk said the body has been kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy.
Kamrangirchar police are investigating the incident.
