Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission (BTTC) Chairman Moinul Khan has resigned from his position. He confirmed the information to TIMES of Bangladesh on Wednesday.

He is currently in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. He said based on his professional experience and expertise, he has received job offers from Malaysia and Australia.

Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the information to the media, saying, “He had earlier informed that he wanted to go on voluntary retirement.”

According to an government order (GO) issued by the Ministry of Commerce on 20 October, Moinul was granted a 20-day leave from 26 October to 14 November.

Mahbubur added that the resignation letter submitted to the Ministry of Public Administration was dated 30 October, and a copy of the application is kept at the Ministry of Commerce. He still had 10 months remaining in his service tenure.
