The government has announced cash rewards for the recovery of weapons and ammunition looted from Bangladesh Police, urging citizens to share credible information with law enforcement authorities.
The Police Headquarters made the announcement on Wednesday, detailing the amount of rewards for each recovered weapon type.
According to the notice, Tk5 lakh will be given for the recovery of a light machine gun (LMG), Tk1.5 lakh for a submachine gun (SMG), Tk1 lakh for a Chinese rifle, and Tk50,000 for a pistol or shotgun. A reward of Tk500 has also been fixed for each round of recovered ammunition.
People with verified information have been requested to contact the nearest police station. Police authorities assured that the identities of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
