A man was killed in a road accident on Jasim Uddin Road in the capital’s Uttara Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Anwarul Huq. His son, Yasin Arafat, said the family is from Sujanagar of Pabna and currently lives in Dakshinkhan. Anwarul owned a motor garage in Uttara.
Anwarul was crossing the U‑turn at Jasim Uddin Road after finishing work when he was struck by an unidentified vehicle around 9pm.
Passers‑by rescued him in critical condition and first took him to Kurmitola Multicare Specialized Hospital. His family later moved him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead around 3am Thursday.
Shah Alam, sub‑inspector of Uttara East Police Station, said the vehicle involved in the accident has not yet been identified. The body was handed over to the family without autopsy at their request, SI Alam added.
