Prime minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir held a meeting with five European ambassadors and senior diplomats in Dhaka on Thursday.
The meeting, held on Thursday at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon, was attended by French Ambassador Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet, Spanish Ambassador Gabriel Sistiaga, British High Commissioner Sarah Cooke, Charge d’Affaires (CDA) of the European Union Baiba Zarina, and Charge d’Affaires (CDA) of Germany Anja Karsten.

Ashik Chowdhury, the executive chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), was also present during the discussions.
The session featured productive discussions regarding the long-standing friendly relations between Bangladesh and its European partners, as well as the growing economic partnership and various matters of mutual interest.
Both sides emphasised the importance of deepening and diversifying cooperation in areas such as trade and investment expansion, defence, civil aviation, and other sectors of mutual concern.

During the meeting, Humayun expressed his expectation to further strengthen existing relations with European nations based on mutual trust and shared interests. For their part, the European diplomats reaffirmed their respective countries’ interest in further expanding their multidimensional partnerships with Bangladesh.
