Bengali actress Sohini Sarkar and musician Shovan Ganguly have announced that they are expecting their first child, sharing the news on their wedding anniversary.
According to The Hindu, the couple revealed the pregnancy through a joint post on Instagram on Wednesday.
“On our third marriage anniversary, we are on our way to becoming a family of three from a family of two,” Sohini wrote alongside a series of photographs from their maternity photoshoot.
The pictures feature Sohini in a white kurta and Shovan in a sky-blue kurta. A purple flower tucked behind the actress’s ear added a touch of colour to the images.
The announcement quickly drew congratulatory messages from fans and members of the Bengali film industry, including actresses Aliviaa Sarkar and Sudipta Chakraborty.
Sohini and Shovan married on 15 July 2024 after dating for about a year.
On the professional front, Sohini was most recently seen in Phera, alongside Sanjay Mishra, Ritwick Chakraborty, Priyanka Sarkar and Subrat Dutta. The 33-year-old actress will next appear in Bohurupi: The Golden Daaku.
