Dhaka University has suspended four teachers and three officials over separate allegations and activities deemed controversial, according to a university press release.
The decision was taken at a Syndicate meeting held on Monday, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof A B M Obaidul Islam. During the suspension period, the individuals will receive subsistence allowances in accordance with university regulations.
The suspended teachers are Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah of the Department of Public Administration, Prof Dr A K M Jamal Uddin of the Department of Sociology, Prof Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam of the Department of Banking and Insurance, and Prof Dr Tashrik-e-Habib of the Department of Bangla.
The suspended officials are Controller of Examinations Bahalul Haque Choudhury, Deputy Registrar Lovelu Mollah of the Registrar’s Personal Section, and Assistant Registrar Mossamat Sharmin Jahan of the Administration-1 Branch of the Registrar’s Office, currently posted at the Institute of Leather Engineering and Technology.
