Two people were detained when activists of banned organisation Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) staged a flash procession in front of the Raju Sculpture at Dhaka University (DU) on Saturday morning.
DU Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed said one of the detainees is a DU student.
They are Farhan Tanvir Nasif, a Linguistics Department student (2019‑20 session) from F Rahman Hall, and Rubel, a microbus driver.
Witnesses said a group of 10–12 gathered with banners near the Raju Sculpture, marched briefly, then boarded a black microbus and left.
Masud Alam, deputy commissioner of DMP’s Ramna Division, told reporters the two detainees are being interrogated at the police station.
