Actor Vicky Kaushal has spoken candidly about how marriage and fatherhood have reshaped his outlook on life, describing his relationship with wife Katrina Kaif as a grounding force that has brought greater maturity and emotional balance.
In a recent interview with GQ India, the Bollywood star reflected on the changes he has experienced since getting married, saying that building a life with another person inevitably alters one’s perspective. Kaushal noted that in the two and a half years since his wedding, he feels he has grown more as a person than during the decades that came before.
According to the actor, Katrina Kaif has played a central role in that transformation. He credited her with making him more patient and thoughtful, particularly when it comes to decision-making. Kaushal said the couple often discuss everything from everyday choices such as food orders and travel plans to more serious matters, learning to arrive at compromises that work for both of them. He described himself as the more stubborn of the two, while characterising Kaif as emotionally intuitive.
Kaushal also spoke about the sense of calm he associates with being in love, explaining that his relationship has brought a feeling of contentment rather than urgency. He said that time spent with his wife allows him to remain present and unburdened by worries about the future or regrets about the past.
The actor added that Kaif has helped him connect with a more romantic side of himself, something he says did not come naturally to him before. He described their relationship as one defined by comfort, emotional security and mutual care, noting that the excitement of their early days together has not faded with time.
Kaif and Kaushal first crossed paths at an awards event, with their relationship gaining public attention after Kaif mentioned him on a television chat show. The couple dated privately before marrying in a low-key ceremony in Udaipur in December 2021. Earlier this year, they became parents to a baby boy, though they have not yet revealed his name.
As both continue their professional commitments, Kaushal’s reflections offer a rare glimpse into how one of Bollywood’s most talked-about couples is navigating marriage, parenthood and personal growth away from the spotlight.
