Earlier, EC Secretary Abdur Rahman Mashud noted that no formal requests for an extension had been received from any major political party, prompting the commission to maintain the original deadline. When asked about possible requests from BNP or Jamaat, he said he had no information regarding such applications.

The official schedule had set the deadline for submission at 5pm on 29 December to the returning or assistant returning officers. With the deadline now passed, no further nominations will be accepted.
