Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus is set to meet with leaders from seven additional political parties on Tuesday, according to officials.
The meeting will take place at 5pm at the State Guest House Jamuna, confirmed Foyez Ahmad, Senior Assistant Press Secretary to the chief adviser, in a statement to UNB.
Earlier on Sunday, Yunus engaged in separate discussions with senior leaders from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizen Party (NCP).
The meetings focused on the current political landscape and preparations for the upcoming national elections, scheduled for February 2026.
In his meetings, the chief adviser reiterated the government’s firm commitment to holding the elections on time, stressing that any attempt to delay or bypass the electoral process could severely undermine national stability.
Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the Chief Adviser, further conveyed that Yunus had reassured the political leaders of the election’s fairness, stating that the elections would be held in a free, fair, and festive atmosphere in the first half of February, as previously mentioned in his recent address to the nation.
