A young man was allegedly beaten to death on suspicion of theft in Kamalbagh area of Chawkbazar in Old Dhaka on Friday.
The deceased was Yunus, around 26 years old.
The incident occurred at the residence of former BNP councillor Humayun Kabir, located in Ward No. 30.
Initial reports indicate that those responsible are attempting to portray the death as an accidental outcome during a theft.
The alleged perpetrators have reportedly fled the scene.
Yunus’s body has been taken to Mitford Hospital morgue, where his wife and children are also present.
Police have launched an investigation into the killing, but no arrests have been made so far.
