A seminar exploring the potential of wool products in Bangladesh’s knitwear sector was held this morning at a hotel in the capital.
The event was jointly organized by the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) and Woolmark Knitwear.
Discussions focused on increasing the use of wool in Bangladesh’s knitwear industry, the potential of Australian Merino wool, the innovation of new products, and expanding into international markets.
Keynote speakers included BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem, Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian High Commission Kilton Pobke, and Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to India Riaz Hamidullah, along with other industry experts, diplomats, and entrepreneurs.
Speakers highlighted how increasing wool-based products could strengthen Bangladesh’s position globally, especially through Australian Merino wool and new product innovations. They also stressed the importance of technological development and skill enhancement to expand the industry’s reach worldwide.
