Channel i marked the first day of Victory Month with Band Fest 2025, bringing 12 prominent bands together in tribute to rock legend Ayub Bachchu. The 12th edition of the annual festival was broadcast live from the Channel i studio until 4 pm.
This year’s participating bands were Uccharon, Parthibo, Starling, Shironamhin, Mechanics, Nirjhor, Mehreen, Tarun, Symphony, Nova, Obscure and Feedback.
Supported by Impress Telefilm Ltd., the event also celebrated the return of Uccharon, the band founded by the late cultural pioneer Azam Khan, a valiant freedom fighter widely known as the Pop Guru who brought a paradigm shift in Bangla band music.
Passed away on June 5, 2011, Azam Khan formed Uccharon with friends after the Liberation War, laying the groundwork for a new musical movement in Bangladesh.
Uccharon’s current lineup includes Dulal Zoha, Piaru Khan, Sekandar Ahmed Khoka, Partho Majumdar, Prem and Bappi. The band plans to perform in multiple live concerts at home and abroad next year and will also appear in several televised music shows beginning this month.
Ayub Bachchu, the original visionary behind Band Fest, remains central to the festival’s legacy. Marking the event’s 12-year milestone, organisers and guests joined in a celebratory cake-cutting ceremony at the venue.
Among those present were Shykh Seraj, Zahid Uddin Mahmood Mamun, Dr Ashis Kumar Chakraborty, Fuad Nasser Babu, Manam Ahmed, Obscure’s Tipu, Project Director Raju Alim and Producer Anonna Ruma.
