Director Vicky Zahed has dismissed reports claiming he is set to reunite Afran Nisho and Tama Mirza for a new film following the success of Surongo and Daagi.
Rumours recently circulated on social media and were picked up by several news outlets, suggesting the filmmaker was preparing a new project featuring the popular on-screen pair.
However, Vicky has described the reports as completely false.
The director said, “I don’t know where these rumours are coming from. They are completely baseless. I am not making any film with this pair.”
He also questioned the logic behind the speculation.
“I even saw reports claiming the film would be released during Durga Puja. If that were true, when did we shoot the film? Where is it? Nisho Bhai is bringing Surongo 2 this December, so when exactly would this project have been filmed?” he said.
Vicky added that he is currently focused entirely on his upcoming film Pulsirat.
“At the moment, I am fully occupied with Pulsirat. We will begin shooting very soon. Other than that, I am not working on any other film right now,” he said.
His statement effectively rules out, for now, any possibility of a third collaboration between Afran Nisho and Tama Mirza under his direction.
Nisho and Tama first appeared together on the big screen in Raihan Rafi’s Surongo, released during Eid-ul-Azha in 2023.
Their on-screen chemistry received widespread praise from audiences.
The pair reunited in Shihab Shaheen’s Daagi, which was released during Eid-ul-Fitr in 2025 and was also well received, fuelling hopes of another collaboration.
Vicky’s debut feature film Pulsirat will instead star Afran Nisho opposite Mehazabien Chowdhury, marking their first pairing on the big screen.
