Five of Bangladeshi cinema’s most celebrated stars: Shabnam, Suchanda, Ujjal, Alamgir and Babita, reunited at Channel i’s studios in Dhaka on Monday for a special gathering that celebrated their contributions to the country’s film industry.
The event brought together some of the most influential figures in Bangladeshi cinema for an afternoon of conversation, reflection and shared memories from careers spanning several decades.
The distinguished guests were welcomed by Channel i Managing Director Faridur Reza Sagar. The discussion was hosted by veteran film journalist Abdur Rahman, who guided the stars through stories and experiences from their years in front of the camera.
Throughout the session, the artists revisited memorable moments from their careers, sharing lesser-known anecdotes and reflections on their journeys in cinema. The gathering also provided an opportunity for several of the stars to reconnect after many years, making the occasion particularly emotional.
Beyond discussions about filmmaking, the conversation explored personal memories and untold stories from their lives away from the spotlight, offering a rare glimpse into the individuals behind some of Bangladeshi cinema’s most iconic screen personas.
The atmosphere remained warm and lively as the guests reflected on their careers, friendships and the evolution of the country’s film industry over the years.
At the conclusion of the event, the guests were presented with commemorative gifts, including decorative keepsakes, toys and specially designed mementoes. They also received personalised crests featuring their names and photographs, along with floral bouquets.
