US Embassy in Dhaka has congratulated the people of Bangladesh following the successful voting and results for the 13th parliamentary election and referendum.
In a Facebook post on Friday, the embassy stated that the people of Bangladesh deserve congratulations for organising a successful election. It welcomed the historic triumph achieved by BNP and Tarique Rahman.
The embassy further noted that the US is keen to work with the newly elected leadership to achieve shared goals of ensuring prosperity and security between Bangladesh and the US. It also expressed the hope of further strengthening mutual interests and cooperation between the two nations.
US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T Christensen also congratulated BNP and the people of Bangladesh on the election.
