Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman on the party’s landslide victory in the 13th Parliamentary Election.
Modi conveyed his congratulations in a message posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Friday.
In his post, Modi said the victory reflects the trust and democratic aspirations of the people of Bangladesh. He also expressed hope that India will always stand by Bangladesh in building a democratic, progressive, and inclusive nation.
The Indian PM further said that the longstanding friendly relations between the two countries will be strengthened in the future.

Bangladesh and India will work together towards mutual cooperation, regional stability, and shared development goals, he said.
The US Embassy in Dhaka, in a verified Facebook post, also congratulated BNP on its victory. The post expressed the United States’ interest in working jointly with Bangladesh to enhance prosperity, stability, and security, while also congratulating the people of Bangladesh for successfully holding the election.
