Jatiya Sangsad Deputy Speaker Kayser Kamal has assured that union-based committees will be formed to oversee development activities within his constituency Netrokona-1.

Kamal made the remarks on Sunday when a 15-member delegation of Imams from his constituency paid a courtesy call to his office at the Parliament House. During the meeting, he enquired after their well-being and sought cooperation in discharging his official duties.

The deputy speaker noted that his constituency is home to people of diverse religious backgrounds and expressed his desire to invite representatives from all faiths and professions to observe the Parliament House and its sessions.

Emphasising his accountability to the public and development, the deputy speaker stated that he was elected by their votes and subsequently nominated to his high office because of them.

He mentioned that corruption and nepotism must be reduced to zero, and urged the religious leaders to assist in resolving social disputes through local mediation (darbar).

“I have conducted myself with 100% honesty and wish to continue working with the same integrity,” Kamal added, requesting prayers for Allah’s assistance in all his future endeavours.
