A teenage girl was allegedly abducted from her home and raped in Bhasanchar Union of Sadarpur Upazila, Faridpur.
Locals caught two youths and handed them over to Sadarpur police in connection with the incident. Police confirmed that preparations to file a formal case are currently underway.
According to local sources and the complaint, a group of 10 to 12 youths, armed with local weapons, arrived at the girl’s residence at approximately 12:30am on 30 July.
The group reportedly forced their way into the house after the family did not open door and abducted the teenager. Local residents who tried to intervene were reportedly threatened with weapons and forced to retreat.
The victim was allegedly taken to a secluded spot about two kilometres from her home, where she was raped by three individuals.
Following the assault, the girl fell ill, and two accomplices attempted to move her to the main road using a motorcycle. Local residents, sensing foul play, intercepted the motorcycle and detained the two youths.
