Two cousins died after being hit by a train while taking a selfie on the Dhaka-Ishwardi railway line in Ullapara, Sirajganj, on Thursday.

The victims were Faisal Kabir, 25, son of Akter Hossain, and Al Fesani, 24, son of Abdul Latif Pramanik, both from Dhukuria Bera village in Belkuchi Upazila.

Sirajganj Bazar Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Dulal Uddin said rows of shimul trees on both sides of the Ghatina railway bridge have created scenic beauty as the flowers bloom in spring. Many people, including young men and women, gather there every day to enjoy the view and take selfies.
