Two Bangladeshi films produced by Impress Telefilm are set to be showcased at the upcoming Delhi International Film Festival, marking another international platform for Bangladeshi cinema.

The selected titles are ‘Manusher Bagan’, directed by Nurul Alam Atique, and “Neelpodmo”, directed by Towfique Elahi. Both films will be screened across separate slots during the festival in India’s capital.

‘Manusher Bagan’ is scheduled for May 5 at 11:53 am local time, while ‘Neelpodmo’ will be screened on May 6 at 6:15 pm.

Manusher Bagan explores interconnected lives from different layers of society and features an ensemble cast including Prosun Azad, Manoj Kumar, Jyotika Jyoti, Swagata, Munira Mithu, Mahmud Alam, Dipanwita Martin and Orchita Sporshia. The film is also expected to see a theatrical release in Bangladesh soon.

Neelpodmo centres on the lives, identities and struggles of sex workers in Daulatdia. The film stars Runa Khan and Rashed Mamun Apu in lead roles, along with Rokeya Prachy, Sujat Shimul, Shahed Ali and A K Azad Setu.

Both selections highlight growing international interest in contemporary Bangladeshi storytelling, particularly films addressing social realities and human rights themes.
