Actress Runa Khan has joined the cast of Ali Zulfikar Zahedi’s upcoming film ‘Cholochittra: The Cinema’, where she will portray the role of a film heroine.
Confirming the news, the actress said that she was drawn to the project after hearing the story and later reading the screenplay. “As an artist, I want to take on diverse roles, particularly those that reflect reality. This character offers that opportunity,” she said.
The film will explore the off-screen lives of heroines, a perspective Runa believes audiences rarely see. “Actors are usually defined by their on-screen roles, but we also have personal lives and this film will tell that story,” she added.
While she previously played a theatre artiste in a 2007 telefilm, this is the first time Runa will be seen on-screen as a film heroine. Shooting is expected to begin this winter, though she noted there may be a slight delay to ensure proper preparations.
Alongside this project, Runa has three films awaiting release — Masud Pathik’s ‘Bok’, Kaushik Shongkor Das’s ‘Daafon’ and Zahid Hossain’s ‘Leela Monthan’.
