Türkiye’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) has proposed signing a party-to-party Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BNP, aiming to deepen political relations between the two parties.
The proposal was made when AK Party Vice Chairman, Head of Foreign Affairs and Member of Parliament Zafer Sırakaya met Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister Humayun Kabir on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey.
During the meeting, Zafer Sırakaya congratulated Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, according to a message received in Dhaka, and put forward the proposal to formalise cooperation through an MoU to further strengthen ties between the AK Party and BNP.
Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir said this is the first time the AK Party has extended such a formal proposal to BNP as a political party in Bangladesh.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of exchanging party-to-party delegation visits as part of efforts to expand political engagement.
