The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 465 people during regular drives across the capital over a 24-hour period.
A total of 73 cases were filed at various police stations during the period.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the DMP on Wednesday.
According to the DMP, the arrests were made during operations in various police station areas across the capital. Police also seized firearms, ammunition, knives, narcotics and other evidence during the drives. Legal action against the arrested individuals is underway.
Of the 465 arrested, 114 were from Mirpur Division, 75 from Motijheel, 60 from Tejgaon, 59 from Wari, 55 from Lalbagh, 42 from Uttara, 29 from Gulshan, 21 from Ramna and 10 from the Detective Branch (DB).
During the operations, police recovered one foreign pistol, two magazines, eight rounds of bullets, four knives, one steel cutter, 2,484 Yaba tablets and 2 kg 360 grammes of cannabis.
