Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members have foiled an attempt by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) to push seven people through Panchagarh border.

The group, comprising six men and one woman, was forced to turn back into India on Tuesday night after BGB officers blocked their entry.

On-duty BGB personnel immediately intercepted them, prompting the group to take up position near the border line. The group was compelled to return into Indian territory through same point at night.

Lieutenant Colonel Mahmud said BGB maintains a firm posture against all forms of border crime, including smuggling, illegal crossing, and push-in attempts.

He added that regular patrolling and surveillance in the border areas have been further stepped up.
