Students of the Department of Music at Tagore University of Creative Arts (TUCA) took part in a collective musical performance at a programme marking the death anniversary of Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore on Saturday.
The programme was organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy under the patronage of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, reads a press release.
Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury, MP, attended the programme as the chief guest.
Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs Kaniz Mowla presided over the event, while Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Director General and poet Sheikh Rezauddin Ahmed (Rezauddin Stalin) delivered the welcome address.
The programme was organised to pay tribute to Rabindranath Tagore’s creative works and cultural legacy.
Alongside students of TUCA, students from the University of Dhaka, Jagannath University and Government Music College also participated in the event.
The collective musical performance paid tribute to the memory of the poet.
