The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 has set 6 December for submission of the investigation report against former DGFI director general Lieutenant General (retd) Sheikh Mamun Khaled in a case over enforced disappearances during the Awami League government’s tenure.
The tribunal fixed the date on Sunday.
Prosecutor Faruk Ahmed appeared for the prosecution, while lawyer Obaidullah Emon represented Mamun Khaled.
Emon said the tribunal would also hear his client’s bail petition on 6 December.
Mamun Khaled was arrested from his residence in Mirpur DOHS on 25 March and has been in jail since then.
On 13 April, the tribunal showed him arrested in the crimes against humanity case and allowed investigators to interrogate him for two days.
The case is part of the International Crimes Tribunal’s ongoing investigation and proceedings into enforced disappearances allegedly carried out during the Awami League government’s tenure.
Mamun Khaled’s lawyers filed a bail petition on 24 August.
