Police have arrested four members of a banned organisation while they were preparing to stage a procession in the Uttara West Police Station area of the capital.
The arrests were made at around 1:15pm on Thursday beneath Abdullahpur flyover. The details were disclosed in a press release issued by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Thursday.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Junayeed Mridha, 19, Rakibul Hasan Pappu, 23, Sajjad Hossain Shuvo, 19, and Md Abdullah, 19.
According to the DMP release, police received secret information at approximately 1:15pm that activists of the banned organisation were assembling under Abdullahpur flyover to prepare for a procession.
A team from Uttara West Police Station conducted a raid at the location, apprehending the four individuals and seizing a banner from their possession.
Police confirmed that the process of taking legal action against the arrested individuals is currently underway.
