Popular parenting platform Togumogu organised a discussion session titled Publisher Connect on Sunday, focusing on ensuring the availability of quality, age-appropriate books for children.
The programme was held at the Light of Hope office in Dhanmondi, bringing together around 20 leading children’s book publishers and entrepreneurs, according to a press release.
Participants exchanged insights on publishing and marketing children’s books, while also discussing challenges related to content quality and age suitability.
Speaking at the session, Dr Nazmul Ahsan Momel, founder and chief executive officer of Togumogu, said, “Providing the right book to children at the right time is a major responsibility in shaping them into ideal citizens. Only thoughtfully curated and quality books can truly help children grow into knowledgeable individuals.”
Waliullah Bhuiyan, co-founder of Togumogu, highlighted the platform’s future initiatives, including the introduction of a new book selection process, plans to establish children’s libraries, and an overview of key challenges facing the children’s publishing sector.
During the discussion, participants proposed the formation of a certification authority or committee to ensure age-appropriate quality standards for children’s books.
They also expressed optimism that the initiative would create new opportunities for collaboration and contribute to improving quality standards in the children’s publishing industry.
