BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has called upon the party’s leaders and activists to ensure victory for the sheaf of paddy symbol in the upcoming election, saying that the party must enter a battle to implement the people’s plan.
He made the call on Wednesday at an event titled ‘Plan to build the country,’ organised by the BNP at the city’s Krishibid Institution auditorium.
Tarique added, “The country would be protected if the sheaf of paddy won the national polls. The people’s plan must be implemented by securing victory for the sheaf of paddy. There is no alternative. Bangladesh must come first and that there would be no compromise.”
“No other political party had presented a plan for building the country comparable to the one proposed by the BNP.”
Tarique stated that the party must now enter a battle to implement that plan. “This is a war, this is a battle,” he said, adding that the battle was for the people and for the country.
He said the BNP’s plan must be taken to the people and explained clearly, as there are no alternatives. Otherwise, he warned that the “nation would be destroyed.”
The event was chaired by Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint secretary general of the BNP and convener of the implementation committee for the “Plan to Build the Country” programme.
The event was conducted by BNP Joint Secretary General Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel and attended by leaders and activists of Jubo Dal and Krishak Dal.
