Fans of The Beatles are being given their first glimpse of the Fab Four in a major cinematic event set to arrive in cinemas in 2028. Sony Pictures has released new images showing Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr.
The four films, directed by Sam Mendes, will each tell the story from the perspective of a different Beatle. The project marks the first time the band and their families have granted both music and life rights for a theatrical portrayal of their journey.
The initial images were revealed via postcards distributed at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, a school co-founded by McCartney. Additional postcards appeared at iconic Beatles locations worldwide, including John Lennon’s childhood home, the Cavern Club and Kaiserkeller in Hamburg, Strawberry Field in New York, and Tower Records in Tokyo.
Alongside the lead cast, the films feature Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, James Norton as Brian Epstein, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd, and Harry Lloyd as George Martin. Supporting roles include David Morrissey as Jim McCartney and Adam Pally as Allen Klein.
Mendes described the project as an opportunity to “reimagine what a trip to the cinema can be” while honouring the legacy of one of the greatest rock bands in history. The four-film series is scheduled for release in April 2028.
