BNP has expelled 10 leaders and activists of the Fatullah Thana unit in Narayanganj for breaching party discipline.

The decision was announced in a press release issued on Sunday and signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

The release said the expulsions followed allegations that the leaders defied party instructions by taking part in election campaigning for two previously expelled BNP leaders, Muhammad Giasuddin and Mohammad Shah Alam, who are contesting the polls as independent candidates.

Those expelled are Fatullah Thana BNP Vice President Sultan Mahmud Molla, former Kutubpur Union BNP President Billal Hossain, Fatullah Thana BNP Organising Secretary Hasan Ali, Assistant Organising Secretaries Saiful Islam Biplob and Md Muslim Ahmed, and Joint Secretary Advocate Akter Khondaker.

Thana BNP members Zahid Hasan Rozel, Nazrul Islam Panna and Alam were also expelled, along with Kutubpur Union Ward 6 BNP Vice President Abdur Razzak.

The party has instructed leaders and activists at all levels to sever all organisational ties with the expelled individuals.
