Indian YouTuber Dhruv Rathee was detained by Delhi Police at his residence in Gurugram’s Sector 56 ahead of a planned protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar on Saturday, police sources told PTI.
Rathee was among the prominent personalities to have joined the CJP protest, reports Indian Express.
Delhi Police denied permission for the demonstration, citing security concerns and procedural requirements.
Police have stepped up preventive detentions and deployed personnel at strategic locations to stop protesters from reaching the protest site.
At least 200 people have been detained from various locations across New Delhi.
