Actor Vijay, popularly known as Thalapathy Vijay, has been at the centre of intense public scrutiny in recent months, with rumours surrounding his personal life and political ambitions dominating headlines.

The actor, who is preparing to contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly elections with his party Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, is also facing a divorce case filed by his wife, Sangeeta Swarnalingam. She has reportedly accused him of infidelity, fuelling speculation about his alleged relationship with actress Trisha Krishnan. There are also claims that a substantial alimony settlement has been proposed, though this remains unconfirmed.

Amid the controversy, Vijay addressed the issue indirectly during a public meeting, stating that attempts had been made to defame him ahead of the elections, but these had not affected him. His remarks have been widely interpreted as a response to the ongoing allegations.

The actor has previously urged the public to refrain from discussing his private life, a stance that has drawn mixed reactions. While some have criticised him, others have expressed support.

Meanwhile, the legal proceedings continue. Sangeeta has reportedly approached the court seeking the right to reside in her in-laws’ home, with indications that she may be allowed to stay at her Chennai residence until the case is resolved.

Allegations have also surfaced regarding Vijay’s role in supporting his family. However, sources close to the actor claim that he has made significant financial provisions in his wife’s name.
