Syed Imran Ahmed, former guitarist and co-founder of rock band Mechanix, has died after battling cancer for the past one and a half years.
Aftabuzzaman Tridib, frontman of Mechanix, shared the news on social media, describing Ahmed as a brother and asking everyone to remember him in their prayers.
“Syed Imran Ahmed, ex-guitarist and co-founder of Mechanix, has left us for eternity. He was struggling with cancer for the last one and a half years. I lost one of my brothers. Keep him in your prayers,” Tridib wrote.
Ahmed was a prominent figure in the country’s rock music scene and played a key role in establishing Mechanix as one of its co-founders.
