Dr Tasnim Jara, senior joint member secretary of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has collected the party’s nomination form to contest in the upcoming national election.
Sarjis Alam, NCP’s chief organiser for the northern region, has confirmed the information in a Facebook post.
He wrote: “Dr Tasnim Jara, Dhaka-9 (Khilgaon, Mugda, Manda, Sabujbagh)”.
Jara collected the form from the party’s temporary headquarters located in Dhaka’s Banglamotor around 10pm on Monday. The form was handed to her by NCP Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary.
The party activists chanted slogans holding the party’s symbol “shapla koli” during the occasion.
Dhaka-9 constituency comprises wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 71, 72, 73, 74, and 75 of Dhaka South City Corporation, which includes the areas of Sabujbagh, Khilgaon, Mugda, and Manda police stations.
The BNP has not yet nominated a candidate for this seat while Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has nominated Kabir Ahmad for Dhaka-9 constituency.
