Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed is yet to make his first appearance for Sharjah Warriors in the ongoing IL T20 in the United Arab Emirates, where the right armer is preparing for a busy year that includes the Bangladesh Premier League and the T20 World Cup.
Taskin missed Bangladesh’s recent home series against Ireland after choosing to play in the Abu Dhabi T10 League, where he impressed with the ball for Northern Warriors. His performances there led to a direct move to Sharjah Warriors, although he was not included in the playing eleven for the side’s opening match, a 39 run defeat to Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.
Speaking in a video released on the Warriors’ official Facebook page, Taskin thanked supporters for their continued backing and asked for prayers as he seeks to represent Bangladesh well on the franchise stage. “Thank you all for always being by my side and for showing so much love,” he said. “Please pray that I can make my country proud and finish this tournament well while staying fit, so that I can continue to give good performances for my country and help win matches. Stay well and stay healthy.”
Sharjah, who have played one match so far, face MI Emirates on Sunday at 4 pm as Taskin waits for his chance to feature for his new side.
